About Voju
Built by people who actually read in their second language.
Voju started because flashcards and dialogues stopped working for us. Real stories did — we just couldn't find them at the right level, in the right language, with audio that didn't sound like a robot.
The method
Three things every Voju story does, regardless of language or level:
- Read in your target language. No safety net — the page is in the language you're learning.
- Tap anything you don't know. Translation, context, related forms, with the native-language gloss on demand, never forced.
- Listen as you read. Real ElevenLabs voices, dialect-correct, slowed if you need it.
The catalog
Three kinds of stories, all bilingual, all levelled:
- Voju Originals. Modern short stories written for learners — not dumbed down, just designed for the level.
- Voju Travels. Short pieces about a place, in the language of the place, written by people who live there.
- Plain-language classics. Aesop, Andersen, Grimm, Wilde, O. Henry, Chekhov, Verne — re-translated into modern levelled prose.
